The Christmas Visitors.
The Christmas Visitors.
Dedication.
I dedicate this book to my new Australian cousin who is going to be born in May and also to Mrs. Stark for being a great help with this book.
One day a new boy joined our class. His name was Marcus. He was from Kosovo. He was 8 years old. He had come from Kosovo because there was a war going on. He was a asylum-seeker. His clothes were ripped and he had cuts on his face and legs. Whenever we talked about Christmas Marcus didn’t join in.
It was the start of the Christmas holidays. I said goodbye to Mrs. Stark and went out to my Mum. Then I saw the tree getting put away. “Stop”! , I said. Then I said we could give it to Marcus. “Great idea” they said. So I helped Marcus carry it home. It was cold and snowy. There were lots of cars, bells ringing and you could smell turkey. Marcus was very happy and said, “Thank you”.
When we arrived at Marcus’s house his Mum and Dad were outside. There was a hole in the roof and it was cold inside. The sofa was ripped and the TV was broken. When I was walking home I was thinking about a Christmas party for Marcus. “Hmmm” I thought.
I wanted the asylum-seekers to have a happy Christmas so that day I asked Mum if she could make food for the Christmas party. She said yes. Then I phoned Dads friend and I wrote a letter to Dad.
If you could buy a pet for Marcus on the way home from work I would be very happy.
From Lewis.
On Christmas Eve Mum, Dad and Dad’s friends came to my house with all the things they had made or bought or had as spares.
I couldn’t wait to see the surprise on their faces when we took everything to their house on Christmas Day.
On Christmas Day I woke up early and I went downstairs to open my presents. After that I had my breakfast. Then my Dad’s friends arrived for the surprise Christmas party for Marcus. Then we walked to Marcus’s house. When we arrived we shouted “Merry Christmas!” Marcus thought it was the best Christmas they had ever had.
THE END.
